The Beachborough Estate workers and house staff picture late (1890's), lets
us visit the past. The coachman with whip stands at the door, in front of him is William Marchant (shotgun over shoulder)
the gamekeeper. The head gardener is on the extreme right with water cans, beside him is the butler. Cooks and housemaids
and the general factotums including a valet and page boy make up the entourage.

It
was down to my parents putting up a bird table many years ago, that most probably in the end, got me into this type of
enjoyable work. Seeing a Siskin in the garden eventually got me hooked into birdwatching (and nature as a whole), and
since then have been actively involved for the last 26 years. I have been luckily enough to have studied an excellent local
birdwatching patch Margate Cemetery (around my wife and 2 lovely children), which over the last 17 years has brought
in some fantastic scarce and rare birds, lets hope that the fortunes may also continue here.
Along
with my footballing and cricketing hobbies, within my spare time I also managed to do several years voluntary work experience
within some local nature reserves in Kent, where I undertook both survey work involving several species, and general
maintenance, which gave me an insight to the work involved and gave precious valuable experience. In the past I was employed
within a National Nature Reserve as an Assistant Study Centre Manager, Field Officer and new Deal Supervisor. Before
joining Beachborough Park I worked as an Environmental Consultant for Pfizer's a big Pharmaceutical Company who currently
own a wetland site of local county importance, there I conducted a 5 year management plan for the reserve to be
potentially used in the future. I have also conducted private Environmental Consultancy Work. I have
gained a (BSc) Hons in Landscape Management, and a Master's Degree in Environmental Conservation. I will shortly be studying
for a PhD in Environmental Sciences whilst working and producing an overall management plan for this site. It is
of great pleasure to be employed as a Wildlife Conservation Manager at Beachborough Park to carry out regular bird
sightings, environmental species survey work, website co-ordinater and photographer, where the aim for the
future will be to use the site for educational purposes.
Other staff details will follow shortly.
