September 2008

 

Monday 29th September

 

2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies.

 

Thursday 25th September

 

2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies.

 

Thursday 18th September

 

2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies and 3 Common Darters.

 

Tuesday 16th September

 

3 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies.

 

Monday 15th September

 

On site today was a total of 3 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies.

 

Thursday 11th September

 

4 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies and 2 Common Darters.

 

Tuesday 9th September

 

Today's totals included 8 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies, 8 Common Darters and 4 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Monday 8th September

 

3 Brown Hawker Dragonflies were new to the site, also seen was 11 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies and 3 Common Darters.

 

Monday 1st September

 

6 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies were around the site today, also 2 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

August 2008

 

Friday 29th August

 

8 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies were present around the site today.

 

Thursday 28th August

 

A Migrant Hawker Dragonfly was in the walled garden this morning.

 

Tuesday 26th August

 

2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies were present today in the walled garden.

 

Thursday 21st August

 

A female Common Hawker Dragonfly was seen in the pasture field this morning, also 5 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies, 4 Common Darters and 3 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

Monday 18th August

 

2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies and 3 Common Darters were present today.

 

Thursday 14th August

 

A Broad-bodied Chaser was a new species to the site, with 7 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies up the top lake, 7 Blue-tailed Damselflies, and 6 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Tuesday 12th August

 

A total of 4 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies were seen today, also 2 Common Darters, 10 Blue-tailed Damselflies and 3 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Monday 11th August

 

Highlights today included a Migrant Hawker Dragonfly in the house & woodland area.

 

Thursday 7th August

 

2 Black-tailed Skimmers and 10 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

Monday 4th August

 

Highlights today included 4 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies (all males), 2 Black-tailed Skimmers and 1 Common Darter.

 

July 2008

 

Thursday 31st July

 

1 Migrant Hawker Dragonfly and 4 Black-tailed Skimmers.

 

Monday 28th July

 

Today's totals included 1 Migrant Hawker Dragonfly, 1 Emperor Dragonfly, 4 Black-tailed Skimmers, 3 Common Darters, 3 Azure Damselflies, 10 Blue-tailed Damselflies and 20 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

Wednesday 23rd July

 

Highlights today included a total of 5 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies around the site, with 1 Common Darter, 2 Emperor Dragonflies and 2 Black-tailed Skimmers on the bottom lake.

 

Tuesday 22nd July

 

There was 2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies hunting over the pasture field this morning, also a total of 5 Common Darters, 4 Emperor Dragonflies and 6 Black-tailed Skimmers down the bottom lake.

 

Monday 21st July

 

Of note there was 2 Black-tailed Skimmers by the bottom lake this morning.

 

Thursday 17th July

 

Very little to report today just several Blue-tailed Damselflies and 3 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Tuesday 15th July

 

1 Black-tailed Skimmer, 2 Common-blue Damselflies, 3 Azure Damselflies and 7 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

Monday 14th July

 

A total of 5 Black-tailed Skimmers were seen today, also 20 Blue-tailed Damselflies and 7 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Tuesday 8th July

 

Just the one Emperor Dragonfly today, although there was a good total of 30 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 2 Azure Damselflies and 11 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Wednesday 2nd July

 

A good record of a Hairy Dragonfly was seen briefly on the pasture field, also 1 Emperor Dragonfly and 5 Black-tailed Skimmers, with 2 Red-eyed Damselflies, 25 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 6 Azure Damselflies and 10 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Tuesday 1st July

 

1 Emperor Dragonfly, 7 Black-tailed Skimmers, 9 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 6 Azure Damselflies and several Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

June 2008

 

Monday 30th June

 

2 Emperor Dragonflies, 10 Black-tailed Skimmers, 7 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 10 Azure Damselflies and 10 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Thursday 26th June

 

6 Black-tailed Skimmers, 2 Emperor Dragonflies, 7 Common-blue Damselflies, 3 Azure Damselflies and 10 Blue-tailed Damselflies,

Wednesday 25th June

2 Emperor Dragonflies and several Black-tailed Skimmers were noted, along with 12 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 10 Blue-tailed Damselflies and 2 Azure Damselflies.

Tuesday 24th June

A total of 4 Emperor Dragonflies were new to the bottom lake, also 7 Black-tailed Skimmers, 1 Large Red Damselfly, 15 Common-blue Damselflies, 16 Azure Damselflies and 6 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

Friday 20th June

1 Black-tailed Skimmer, 10 Azure Damselflies and 9 Common-blue Damselflies.

Thursday 19 June

1 Red-eyed Damselfly and 3 Black-tailed Skimmers.

Monday 16th June

1 Black-tailed Skimmer and a Common Darter.

Thursday 12th June

Of note just 2 Black-tailed Skimmers today.

Tuesday 10th June

 

1 Black-tailed Skimmer and a Common Darter seen today.

 

Monday 9th June

 

New species to our bottom lake included 2 Common Darters, with a total of 11 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 16 Common-blue Damselflies and 1 Variable Damselfly also present.

 

Friday 6th June

 

Just several Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Tuesday 3rd June

 

A Common Darter Dragonfly was our first of the year, with at least 16 Common-blue Damselflies and 10 Blue-tailed Damselflies present.

 

Monday 2nd June

 

2 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

May 2008

 

Thursday 29th May

 

9 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

Tuesday 27th May

 

Damselflies today included 4 Common-blue and 7 Blue-tailed.

 

Thursday 22nd May

 

Very similar to Tuesday with a total of 18 Blue-tailed Damselflies and 3 Common-blue Damselflies. 

 

Tuesday 20th May

 

No sign of any dragonflies, but at least 18 Blue-tailed Damselflies, and 4 Common-blue Damselflies present.

 

Monday 19th May

 

5 Blue-tailed Damselflies, 11 Azure Damselflies and 2 Common-blue Damselflies.

 

Thursday 14th May

 

5 Blue- tailed Damselflies and 2 Common-blue Damselflies were on the bottom lake.

 

Tuesday 13th May

 

The first of 2 Common-blue Damselflies appeared today alongside 3 Blue- tailed Damselflies.

 

Monday 12th May

 

The bottom lake produced a total of 7 Blue-tailed Damselflies.

 

Friday 9th May

 

The bottom lake held 3 Blue-tailed Damselflies

 

Thursday 8th May

 

4 Blue-tailed Damselflies today.

 

Tuesday 6th May
